Yassine Boughanem is a Belgian-Moroccan fighter who moved from Muay Thai into MMA. A title-winning heavyweight and Youssef Boughanem’s younger brother, he has built his career across Belgium, Thailand and European promotions.
From Friend’s Gym to Thailand
In his 2015 Siam Fight Mag interview, Yassine recalls starting at around ten at Friend’s Gym in Brussels, inspired by his brother. He places his first Thailand bout at fourteen, a points win. Periods at different Thai camps then formed part of his development.

His 26 February 2018 win over Steven Banks at Phoenix 5 earned a WBC Muaythai world title. He then beat James McSweeney at Phoenix 8. In Brussels in April 2019, a medical stoppage against Bruno Susano brought a WKN title. These are historical achievements, not a list of belts he currently holds.
